Welcome back to TVPengineering.com. I am learning that it is another full-time task to keep the site updated, and am working on updating the project list as I type this out. 2009 has been quite a busy year so far, working on many new and interesting projects. We have just completed two larger projects, one involving a seismic certification for generator switchgear and a new isolation system for an airport radar system. We are involved in two bridge monitoring system projects in British Columbia: the Ironworkers Memorial Second Narrows Bridge and the Pitt River Bridge. For Second Narrows, we have been involved with design and installation of the monitoring system; for the Pitt River Bridge we have been working on assessment of the cable stays for both suitability of a new monitoring system and looking at cable damping values. Also, we are collaborating with the University of British Columbia and the Ministry of Transportation working on the new bridge monitoring centre to be located at UBC.

In addition to these projects, TVP is now the Official Canadian Partner with Structural Vibration Solutions A/S, of Aalborg Denmark. SVS is a world-renowned supplier and developer of the ARTeMIS Extractor software for Operational Modal Analysis. The is an exciting new venture for us where TVP will provide sales and support to customers in Canada; and in addition provide engineering support to SVS and collaborate on new opportunities at home and abroad. Welcome to TVPEngineering.com!

Although our website is just coming online, TVP is approaching its first anniversary as a company. It has been an exciting year, and the prospects for 2009 are even better!

We are currently working on vibration isolation and seismic qualification projects, and are preparing to work on monitoring for a large bridge retrofit. We are working on both research and commercial projects, and are hoping to expand in the coming year.
